Alternative Music, Live Band, Monster Energy Drink, and A Whole Lot of Juice.

MLM Entertainment has done it again. I can honestly say I have never been to a live alternative music concert in my 30-something years of living. (Definitely not telling ya’ll my real age). The atmosphere was not just about many musicians getting on the stage and putting on a show. This MLM, Monster Energy Drink, and Still Got Da Juice collaboration concert was more of an experience than anything. More importantly, I felt free to bring out 18-year-old Kanika.

The live band, the green cups, the dark painted fingernails, and the darkly dressed vibrant concertgoers set the tone for the whole evening. I almost thought I should go back home and change my outfit so that I could fit the aesthetic. Promo for this event ran for about 3 weeks yet you would’ve thought it was for months with the amount of people that were packed into the venue space. It’s almost impossible for you to come into that space and not join in on a safe but rambunctious crowd rager pit. Fans and concertgoers are screaming “Open The Pit” because how can you just head bop to this kind of music?

Typically Phresher and the team of Still Got Da Juice open up their platform to Hip Hop lovers and artists but this time around Phresher has found a new and innovative genre to support. I mean it’s not like we haven’t all gone through that “emo” or rock phase in high school or college. I think that Pharrell is just a more Hip Hop approach to Maroon5. Migsz(@migs718 ), Ladibree, KNoWTe(@knowte_worthy), and new MLM artist Joey Flats(@joeyflats_) were some of the artists to grace the stage along with Krystal Renee(@whoiskrystal), Equis(@equis_nyc), Wats Poppin(@watsreallypoppin), Silk Stone(@silk.stonenyc), MRI(@mri_nyc), and Mulamandam(@mulamandam). At this point, it’s almost like I can’t imagine going to a show without it being coordinated and executed the same way. Let me put it this way if there was ever an issue behind the scenes we wouldn’t have known about it.

Migsz 20 min set included his new hit song “Wasted” and even some never before released music, that the audience surprisingly knew the word for word. If you doubt that Migsz was the rockstar he is, this concert would have put everything into perspective for you.

Mike Loco has officially announced via his Instagram stories that these curated events will be an ongoing thing to support more artists and creatives in the alternative, punk, rock, and pop community. I’m looking forward to being front and center at a few of these events and getting to know some talent in a completely different community. Yes, I will always be married to Hip Hop but he said I can have friends, lol.
