How windy is it really in Chicago?
Sitting on the couch watching Newsroom and eating Halal food on a Thursday evening I saw an email from what could possibly change the career and direction of Spill It Entertainment forever.
Hyde Park Summer Fest has officially responded to our media credentials request. I immediately started looking up flights and rooms because if me and Spill It’s interviewer Kacee Marie is going to visit Chicago we have to do it in the right way. I can smell the deep-dish pizza, lol.

Hyde Park Summer Fest is a two-day music festival that will bring iconic artists, local brands, and Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods together for a weekend of music, community, and celebration of Chicago culture. Taking place at Midway Plaisance from June 17-18, 2023, the Black-owned festival is a can’t-miss staple of Summertime ‘Chi. As soon as they dropped the line-up for the festival on April 27, 2023, I practically stalked the news feed and my email inbox. Being that Spill It Entertainment is a Hip Hop focused full-service entertainment brand it’s only right that we include every influential city in Hip Hop in our media tour. With acts like Chicago’s own “Mother Nature”, Lil Kim, Clipse, Uncle Waffles, 2 Chainz, Tobe Nwigwe, and another Chi-town native legend Twista this event was sure to fulfill the essence of Chicago. We can’t forget rising stars like Lola Brooke, Kali, and Liabianca to name a few.
Festival line-up includes: Clipse, Lil’ Kim, 2 Chainz, Tobe Nwigwe, Uncle Waffles, Robert Glasper, Crucial Conflict, 3 Snapz,Alex Isley, All Summa, Boolu Master, Dee Jay Alicia, DJ BG, DJ Cash Era, DJ Ringo, Do Or Die,Duane Powell, JayIlla, Jonathan McReynolds, Kid Clay, Libianca, Mother Nature, Mustafa Rocks,Nosike, Omen, Oxlade, Philmore Greene, Protege, Redcup Karaoke, Shawnna, Terry Hunter,Twista, Tye Hill, Verbal Kwest, and Vic Mensa
This and the fact that this festival is black-owned featuring some of Chicago’s community favorite vendors. Jonathan Swain said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Lil’ Kim to the Hyde Park Summer Fest stage and can’t wait to see what she brings to Chicago”. The next generation and founding generations come together to enjoy the music and food that Chi-town natives love and appreciate. To add to its community-centered mission Hydepark Summer Fest put together a community showcase on May 17th at Promontory in Hydepark where local talent will be judged by a committee of 5 community members in the music industry. Winners of the showcase will have the opportunity to perform on one of the festival stages on Day Two of the Hyde Park Summer Fest. Spill It Entertainment provides services for up-and-coming artists and we look forward to seeing these artists put on an amazing show while they experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I’ll be sure to report back to you post-festival and I’m definitely on a mission to get a slice of deep-dish pizza. Hyde Park Summer Fest we are on our way to jam.
