New Jersey stand all the way up!! Today one of Jersey’s very own drops a new song today! The song is titled “TMO - Turnin Me On” by B. Rockk da World. Well let me tell you this song is a vibe. Baron “B. Rockk” Martinez is a Jersey native born on May 3rd and his nationality is half African American and the other half Dominican. After interviewing the rising artist it was interesting to discover that his musical journey began in church. B. Rockk musical influences are drawn from the late Michael Jackson and Chris Brown.
Why music?
“It’s always been a part of me since a young age. My mom was the first to notice that I could sing, then my grandma took me to church and from there I started singing in the choir as a soloist. I have also played drums since I was 10 and played in the drumline for a marching band in my junior and senior year of high school. I always thought I was going to be apart from the bands that were on stage with the artist for big performances but my life took a different route. It’s been a different type of passion and love that I have for music itself so choosing music was always going to be my #1 option regardless. Music is my gift.”
Where do he see himself in the next two years?
“In the next two years I see myself of course at a higher level in my career. Performing at stadiums, festivals, awards shows especially the best awards and being a part of XXL Freshman class. I’m gonna take advantage of every opportunity and seize every moment that I come across. It’s going to be really special for me.”
Who would he like to work with?
“I got a lot of artists in the industry who I want you to work with for sure. A few I have in mind are A Boogie, Blxst, Chris Brown, Capella Grey, Toosii. K Camp. My name is going to be stamped into industry in telling you.”
What has been his most successful highlight this far in the music industry?
“Making a song with Vado and Project X”.
When you’re not doing music - what hobbies interest you?
“I love to play basketball when I’m at the gym. If I’m not making music or hooping then I'm on the game, playing Madden or 2K, sometimes Call of Duty.”
