A Taylor that made away
Shinere Taylor, a business mogul on the rise has made her stamp in the Airbnb business and much more. Shinere not only has been thriving in her own Airbnb business but has also been fortunate enough to teach other entrepreneurs to start their own Airbnb business and become thriving property owners. Shinere owns and operates two online businesses via drop shipping that are also thriving. Being from a place of struggle in a community that is always being put down and interchange without just cause Shinere has always had plans to be one step ahead.
Shinere like many of us not only had to go through life learning from the mistakes and the experiences she has been a part of and used both as a stepping stone to guide her in life. When life hit Shinere she didn't take keenly to the advice of friends and family who also experienced some of the same hardships she came across. “Some of my closest friends and family did not want me to self-destruct. Unfortunately, my head was harder than a bag of bricks. I thought I knew the world and had it all figured out." says Shinere. Shinere was a young woman that was full of promise but she did not know or wish to understand the meaning and power behind having an education and strong writing skills. Shinere lost her faith and excitement in being a student. It was until Shinere was given an assignment by Noah that Shinere took her need for a proper education seriously.
Shinere began to never be seen without a pen and paper in hand. Shinere went on to writing essays, short stories, and poems after discovering her new love of reading and writing. Unfortunately, life for Shinere was more than just using her writing as a form of expression and she began to get sidetracked due to a new love outside of education she had found. Shinere met her now child’s father who lived a life of fast streets and faster means of living. Shinere found herself in situations that she never imagined and that led her to time in a jail cell in Maine after being convicted for her role in a drug-smuggling ring. However, Shinere did not give up on her need to want to change her perspective on life. Eight months into Shinere’s time in jail she met a teacher that would later help her find a new perspective in life. While in jail Shinere made a lifetime friend in a cellmate named Leah who showed her not to give up faith in turning her life around. Lea was a picture-perfect example of how not to let a horrible circumstance change your life forever and make the best out of situations that you can or can not control.
Shinere later received her GED while in jail which she believes is one of her greatest accomplishments in life. Shinere is now attending The College Of New Rochelle studying psychology. Shinere also has plans to continue her education in teaching English as a second language to non-speaking English children. While attending school, Shinere works with homeless individuals within the DHS Shelter system assisting them in securing permanent housing options and other benefits. Shinere says “I am currently working on my book of poems but it will be telling my story. I spent 18 months incarcerated and the book will have 18 poems that resemble a chapter of my incarceration until the end. Each poem is the title of a song that has a meaning for me."
