Hey tea sippers , I'm back and and I know you miss me because I miss you more. Lately, I've been doing a little bit of everything . I've been hosting , acting , judging and all around just living my best fucking life . Even though I haven't been keeping you updated on the site I have so many other things that I've been taking the time out to perfect. Perfecting my Instagram was one thing that needed my special touch and I couldn't let you guys down . Speaking of touches I wonder if you guys remember a vlog I did a while back that featured a great song called "Touch Me" by The Silent Celeb ft 1st and Kony Brooks. Of course I automatically fell in love with the song for many reasons . One " Touch Tease Me" by Case ft Mary J Blige and Foxy Brown was my all time favorite song as a child . Two I loved the uniqueness of The Silent Celeb . Just as an artist I believe that if anyone could have pulled off a remake it would be her ,and she most certainly did just that. So fast forward six months later and the video comes out . Unfortunately I wasn't able to be in it because of course life got in the way and when you make seven commitments in one week and have to bail on 6 of them well you know how that goes . So tonight I get a Dm from Celeb like " YO it would be dope if you re post or reviewed it ". Of course automatically I said yes because she's dope and she's been riding with me since basically the beginning .
I watched the whole video and I thought to myself what would be a good way to review this ?
Practically every blogger would just compare and contrast from Case's version , but honestly why would you ? I mean realistically we are in two different eras. Yes a lot of swag from the 90's is being repeated , but when I look for an artist to shine spotlight on I look for originality . I look for confidence in their product because at the end of the day all artists do is sell a product whether or not it's marketable or not is up to the consumer and let me tell you something anything The Silent Celeb is selling I'm buying . Period!!
Now back to the video . Off top I'm like yes sis give them some flavor ! The Silent Celeb starts off the video with showing off her fit which is dope . The outfit was sponsored by Born Hustler a clothing brand based out of Atlanta. I wish I had a sponsor and Jordan's like that to show off. All her girls are on the sofa chilling which reminds me of how me and my crew are when we're just in a complete vibe. Which let's me know that this video is not going to be filled with a bunch of half naked girls in the club . Then you have the dancers Hazard NYC, ToeWhopTina and the Hypestarfamily . They all looked like they really enjoyed the music . This wasn't just a video they were featured in this was something that gave them a chance to be themselves which is very rare in a lot of music videos now . Everyone is so flashy and so serious and it's honestly not as enjoyable . This looks more like fun while still getting the point across . Of course you have 1st putting some heavy back it up moves on Kony Brooks . I could literally see the sweat from his forehead dripping on my phone . lol !! Just like Foxy did to Case in their video . Not to mention the video was in black and white and the angels shot by the director Ruth were very similar to Case's version as well . I thought it was unique that they basically did the opposite of Case's version. Instead of a man serenade to a female it was a female speaking on another female . Honestly that's what drew me to the song at first. I'm a big supporter of the LGBT community and to have an artist like Celeb show all her talents without caring about any backlash or bullshit the haters might say makes me so happy and proud! I swear on everything they nailed this ! As they do everything else.
