HOT 97’s Who’s Next is back for its latest installment that launched this past Wednesday at the legendary New York music venue, Blue Midtown. “Who's Next" provides a platform for emerging talent; Cardi B, The Weeknd, Drake and Megan Thee Stallion are among the acts who performed on the showcase's stage early in their careers.

The event was hosted by celebrity radio personality Drewski, HOT 97 provided upcoming artists making moves in the industry the chance to perform for industry insiders and trendsetters in New York City.

The line up consisted of Armani’s White who was signed to Def Jam after exploding over the summer with his electrifying viral smash “Billie Eilish.” His high-energy and renowned fashion sense got him over 30 million global streams, and inspired over 38 billion TikTok views. His energy was infectious, even having moments with a few people in the crowd.

SwaVay, was the first artist to come out and rip the stage, and he did not disappoint. A native of Atlanta’s bubbling trap fusion scene, recently dropped “FACES,” the focus track from Almetha’s Son, his upcoming major label debut album project. The young rapper shared a Grammy nom in 2019 with DJ Khalil, Cordae, Denzel Curry, and Trevor Rich for his contribution to “Elevate” from the Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse ST; he’s since become a serious contender among devotees of trap.

Young Devyn, who closed the show, is a 20-year-old MC and hybrid vocalist from Brooklyn. Since hopping on the scene, she has evolved into a full-fledged hip-hop and R&B phenom with her landmark “Straight to It” that dropped last year. She performed her hit “Decisions” and surprised the audience with special guest Capella Grey.

The stage presents and energy were on 10, she did not disappoint bringing that Brooklyn swag and attitude.

Each artist understood the assignment and did not disappoint, I think we can all agree, these artists are definitely up next, and are ready to show the world all

they got.
