Spill It Ent takes over Vegandale: Recap

Writer: kacee mariekacee marie

Vegandale Fest New York, hosted this past Saturday at Randalls Island, drew over 5,000 fans and foodies and featured more than 250 vegan food vendors and artists.

The festival started at 11 am and boasted an explosive option of vegan dishes, and arts.

The art gallery and creative installations to take pictures provided a fun experience for attendees. The artistic approach allowed fans to immerse themselves in the art while creating memorable photo opportunities.

DJ Superstar Jay and the official hosts, Scotty Bernard and Lorahsp Kansara did a great job keeping the crowd energized and interested throughout the day. Their engagement and entertaining banter with the audience were key. They also had consideration for the well-being of audience members, even pausing performances to ensure the safety of the festival goers.

The festival's headliners, included Rick Ross, Coi Leray, and Styles P, and they did not disappoint. All delivered electrifying performances. Styles P brought the nostalgia on stage and did a great job opening up and getting the crowd hype. He even did a nod to the late DMX. The rapper is also a known vegan activist who co-owns several “Juices For Life” stores with Jadakiss in the New York area. His hearty beverages were available for purchase at Vegandale throughout the day.

Coi Leray was the second headliner to perform, and she gave us a treat. Coi had the stage set up to give an intimate feel and also had the crowd hyped as she performed her latest and past hits, while also hitting us with some choreography. Her energy was contagious, and she even paused her set to check on people who were passing out or needed medical attention.

Rick Ross was the closing headliner, and he came with the energy as well. Ross did a great job interacting with people in the crowd, taking videos on their phones, and throwing some things in the crowd. Ross rapped a lot of fan favorites from Diced Pineapples to BMF. The crowd was thoroughly entertained.

All left a lasting impression that closed the night on a high note.

Vegandale Fest 2023 was a festival for the books. Although there were some bumps in the road, with some thoughtful adjustments, this event will become a must-come for all New Yorkers, whether you're vegan or not, to appreciate and enjoy the world of vegan cuisine and culture.
